Flip-Folders & Lyres
Every wind player will need a flip-folder and lyre for their instrument. Purchase from West Music or similar retailer.
For flute and trombone, the folder is part of the lyre. For all other, this flip-folder is appropriate.
Here are examples of appropriate lyres for each instrument.
-
Clarinet Lyre
-
Sax Lyre
-
Trumpet - some instruments have a bracket to hold a lyre, some do not
-
Trumpet Lyre for instrument with bracket
-
Trumpet Lyre, no bracket, such as Bach Stradivarius
-
Trombone Lyre & flip-folder combination - can work with trumpet; no bracket required
-
-
Mellophone Lyre
-
Trombone Lyre & Flip-folder Combination - this kind attaches to the bell. It is preferable to the kind that attaches to the slide section by the mouthpiece.
-
Baritone Lyre
-
Tuba Lyre
